Chapel of Meritxell

Located in Meritxell, this sanctuary hosts the figure of the patron saint of Andorra.

The original sanctuary, of Romanesque style and dates from the seventeenth century, was completely renovated after a disastrous fire in 1972.

Today, completely renovated and with modern architecture adapted to the landscape, it has been declared a Minor Basilica.

Church of Sant Joan de Caselles

The church of Sant Joan de Caselles is one of the 3 jewels of the Andorran Romanesque. It dates from the 11th-12th century and consists of a rectangular nave with a wooden roof, a semicircular apse and a Lombard-style bell tower.

It also conserves two arcades built in the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries.

In its interior it also houses true treasures: pictorial scenes or the altarpiece of great artistic quality.
